Immigrant Inclusion in Health Care Reform We are at a crucial moment -- the US Senate has started debate on national health reform. True reform would be completely inclusive -- quality affordable health care for all within our borders. We may not achieve that this year, but groups collaborating across the nation have fought hard and won improvements for specific groups, including immigrants. We can make health care more affordable and accessible for millions of immigrants by getting the support of our US Senators on key issues likely to arise during the Senate debate.
PLEASE take a minute today to call Senator Specter and Senator Casey. Ask them to: • Support lifting the five year bar (waiting period) before which legal immigrants become eligible for federally funded Medicaid. • Oppose any efforts to prevent legal immigrants from purchasing subsidized coverage through the Exchange. • Oppose any immigration-related restrictions on individuals seeking to purchase unsubsidized coverage through the Exchange Senator Specter (202) 224-4254 Senator Casey (202) 224-6324
